Elie Saab’s $400,000 Couture Dream.

Lebanese designer Elie Saab has a reputation for creating indulgent gowns, having previously dressed a Belgian Countess and Princess Claire of Luxembourg (whose gown had 50,000 pearls and a 13 foot train, taking a rumoured 3,900 hours to make) for their royal weddings. While it may seem Elie Saab is at the peak of extravagance, he out did himself with a gown costing more than $404,000.

Malala Yousafzai and Muzoon Almellehan Rally for Education.

Seventeen-year-old Syrian refugee, Muzoon Almellehan, has found an ally in Malala Yousafzai. Inspired by their similar pasts, the duo now stand for the same cause: providing an education to those who have been denied one. They have rallied for support via a Change.org petition with the ultimate goal to raise the number of Syrian children in school from its current number of one in five.
