Elegance at Finezza.

Ivan Lehec has a long history with fashion. Having worked in high-end retail for years, Lehec noticed many of his male customers were in need of personalized lessons in style, which weren’t easily available. On this principle, he founded Finezza: Au Nom L’Homme. We had a chance to attend the debut of his upcoming Autumn/Winter 2016 collection, and here’s what we saw.

Lady Gaga was nominated for her first Oscar at Sunday’s 88th Annual Academy Awards. The performer, most notable for her out of the box sense of style and her pop anthems, revealed an entirely different side of herself during the ceremony. Finding Refuge in Art with Valda Zobens.

Valda Zobens is best known for her paintings dealing with themes of temporary migration. Tempered by her own family’s immigrant experience, she began her Perilous Journey series, which is made up of one collection thus far. But as we get closer to contemporary fashion, it gets harder to define, leaving some critics claiming we are following a “no trend” trend. With global fashion weeks coming to a close, there is no better time to define our current era of fashion.

the Full Spectrum at the Grammy Awards.

Fashion was varied on the red carpet of 2016’s Grammy Awards, with the entire colour spectrum and silhouettes from ball gowns to tailored suits making appearances. We saw nominee and performer Lianne La Havas in a yellow-on-yellow floral gown, Selena Gomez in glittered blue Calvin Klein, and both Taylor Swift and Kimberly Schlapman of Little Big Town in fuchsia and salmon separates. With wardrobe changes and live performances, it certainly was a night of hits (and misses).
