Barbie Keeps Up With the Times.

Louis Vuitton Versus the World.
Louis Vuitton has had little luck with their legal proceedings as of late, most recently in their lawsuit against Los Angeles-based designer house, My Other Bag. MOB screen prints sketches of iconic bag silhouettes from high end designers like Chanel and Céline to create a stylish reimagining of reusable bags.
Przemek Pyszczek’s Soviet Sculptures.
Found in Berlin’s Schöneweide region, sculptor Przemek Pyszczek’s studio is a long way from home. Drawn to his home country of Poland’s kitschy charm, Pyszczek found his future muses in Soviet-era artifacts. With a background in architecture his artistic obsession began with photography of Wielka Płyta, Poland’s solution to the immediate need for post-war housing, and later evolved to sculptures that incorporated Soviet architecture-inspired elements.
Elie Saab’s $400,000 Couture Dream.
Lebanese designer Elie Saab has a reputation for creating indulgent gowns, having previously dressed a Belgian Countess and Princess Claire of Luxembourg (whose gown had 50,000 pearls and a 13 foot train, taking a rumoured 3,900 hours to make) for their royal weddings. While it may seem Elie Saab is at the peak of extravagance, he out did himself with a gown costing more than $404,000.
Toronto’s One of a Kind.
For more than 40 years One of a Kind has been a part of the Toronto artisanal movement with its design show, which provides a curated marketplace for creatives. Having previously been limited to the physical realm, with fairs only occurring a few times a year, they have recently expanded with an online shop. Malala Yousafzai and Muzoon Almellehan Rally for Education.
Seventeen-year-old Syrian refugee, Muzoon Almellehan, has found an ally in Malala Yousafzai. Inspired by their similar pasts, the duo now stand for the same cause: providing an education to those who have been denied one. They have rallied for support via a Change.org petition with the ultimate goal to raise the number of Syrian children in school from its current number of one in five.
