Brussels Under Attack.

The Belgian capital was shaken this year when two bombs exploded in the Zaventem airport and at a Metro Station in Brussels’ downtown core. With casualties at the time estimated at 34 and more than 230 injured, the attacks were been confirmed as the work of ISIS. Plagiarism at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week.

Feeha Jamshed returned to Pakistan’s runway at the recently concluded PFDC Pakistan Fashion Week with “Bomb Squad” after a two year hiatus. While taking time away from her own label, she spent her years working with Mahira Khan of Ho Mann Jahaan and Bin Roye. Despite the debut of an eye catching collection, Jamshed’s return was sullied when her cornerstone Bomb Squad prints got the designer accused of plagiarism. What do you think?

Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy at the United Nations.

The Commission on the Status of Women is celebrating their 60th year by investigating women in Pakistan, especially those effected by (or who have the threat of being effected by) honour killings. To educate the audience and contextualize honour killings within Pakistan, the commission hosted a screening of Canadian director Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy’s Academy Award winning short documentary “a Girl in the River: the Price of Forgiveness”.
